The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

Cause for concern?

I’m just telling you, but there are people in the athletic department who are very worried about this picture, which I took today. The season opens next Saturday and there is a lot of work to be done — and being done — to complete the new video board on time. The palms are sweaty.

This is a potential problem. That gap on the right is where ad space would go and if it’s not completed by the first game, WVU stands to lose ad revenue. Who’s going to pay a seven-game price for six games of exposure?

Speakers are exposed, but that can’t possibly take much time to fix.

Much time is being spent configuring the actual video board.

Meanwhile, the Coliseum is the least of anyone’s concerns.

Well, maybe except for the possibility full court and three-quarters court shots might not be possible because of that humongous videoboard hanging above center court.

Really, look how big that thing is!

I just felt the need to share this. It’s at the Elks Lodge up the hill from where I live. Between that, the $10 gameday parking and $1.50 PBR cans, it’s sure to become a destination location.
