Join Mr. Summers and me for today’s noon game
February 6, 2010 by Mike CasazzaEight minutes until tip, I’m staring at 14 inches of snow … or as was described last night “a little more than two beer cans.” I was watching the weather channel today and saw a live shot of NYC and there was no snow. It wasn’t even wet. I think I saw sunshine. Alas, I am here, hunkered in for the immediate future and ready for what could be a darn tricky game for WVU.
There’s the emotional Pitt game one one side of this and the anticipated Villanova game on the other. In the middle is St. John’s, losers of four straight and seven of nine. Still, the way the Red Storm guards and pressures can give the Mountaineers trouble and they’ll need nice days from Truck and Mazzulla. The first few minutes ought to be interesting, too, because it usually takes a visiting team a little time to get used to the backdrop they shoot at inside Madison Square Garden. Is that what stops WELLS? We’ll find out…
