The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

Group hug?

By now, you probably know. My last day with the Charleston Gazette-Mail is July 14. The next morning, I start a new job with CBS and 247Sports. I’m still covering West Virginia and the Big 12 and whatever else I can scoop onto my plate.

It’s very exciting, but this is also hard for me. Like, I’m having a brutal time writing this, and I tried a couple times last night, too. I can and probably will get deeper into everything, but I put this post off to the very end because I just don’t know what to say, outside of the obvious, which is “Thank you.” I find that I keep repeating this, but I can’t say enough about Charleston Newspapers, and I love this little space we have right  here. It’s been my favorite thing to do, without fail, through good times and bad times and everything in between the past 10 years.

I feel like it would be unfair and disingenuous to spend a lot of time here talking about what I’ll be doing there, but I also have a feeling many of you are wondering what happens now. I don’t know what will happen here, but why wouldn’t I do some or many of the very same things there?

So, we’ve got a few days left. In reality, my last writing day is Wednesday, and I’ll wrap a bow around everything then. But what should we do now?
