The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

12-0, you’re welcome

OK, so this is weird. We’re having a common but also perplexing issue with the blog. I’m getting a constant ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT message when I head to the blog’s administrative page. I can get to any other website on the planet, including other WordPress sites, but I can’t access our blog. It appears to be solely my computer, because I can get in on my phone and tablet.

I say common, because we’ve all had this issue and many of us have fixed it or simply had it fix itself. Not me, hence perplexing. We’re searching for a solution. I’ve tried a swarm of trouble shooting suggestions to no avail. If any of this sounds familiar, I welcome your two cents. Right now, everything in the immediate future is up in the air. Indid this on my phone. I can’t do that at the game tonight.

Moving on …

… West Virginia welcomed many prospective student-athlete football players over the weekend. Showed them around town. Posed for pictures in the Puskar Center. Brought them to the basketball game. The entire enchilada. The Mountaineers even liked two of them enough to offer scholarships.

The bigger news was also probably the expected news. WVU, with new cornerbacks coach Doug Belk, secured the services of former Syracuse cornerback Corey Winfield and also took the next step toward doing the same with former Kentucky receiver Jeff Badet.

“They lost two of their top receivers [in Shelton Gibson and Daikiel Shorts] and they got a couple young guys coming back, so they pretty much want me to come back and play the X [receiver] and maybe move around and catch a lot of balls for them,” Badet said after the trip.
He also got a strong pitch from several of the players, all of whom used new quarterback Will Grier as a major bargaining chip to get Badet to come to Morgantown.

“They were pretty much just saying that Will Grier is a really great quarterback and that [he] could possibly help them win all twelve games,” said Badet. “They said that next year is going to be great for them and they want me to be part of it.”
