Slip six

Uh, good for Kansas!

Go 1-1 and lose at home for the first time since the Obama administration and stay at No. 3. Baylor, meanwhile, lost at Kansas and lost at home to Kansas State and dropped four spots to No. 6. West Virginia thumped Iowa State at Hilton days before the Cyclones won at Kansas but also lost at home to now oddly underrated Oklahoma State — three votes! — and dropped six spots!

I don’t care much about polls in the second week of February, and there’s nothing wrong with being in the top 15, but it seems pretty clear the entirety of WVU’s season is being acutely judged.

Then again, where would Bob Huggins rank his team with reviews like this?

“The most frustrating thing to me is it’s OK if you’re going to shoot 50 percent at the foul line,” he said. “Just admit that you don’t care. Don’t run around and tell everybody about how much you care and this and that and don’t do anything about your transgressions.

“I have as many transgressions as most people, but I try to do some good. I try to fix them. I try to work. So at least try. Maybe you’re just a terrible shooter, but at least try. At least show your teammates you care.”
