The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

“It’s not true unless he is lying.”

OK, so I was pretty suspicious about all this. Blue Adams was, to my knowledge, offered a multi-year contract by West Virginia last month. He never signed it, but still. Then yesterday there was a plain report that Adams is leaving for USF, and there was nothing to refute it.

That’s ordinarily a sign.

We’re in carousel season, and people here are pretty plugged into these things, but there was just about nothing. Coaches and teams will go out of their way to use social media or just the media to squash falsehoods. Last night and early this morning, WVU did not think Blue Adams was leaving for USF. There were assurances it was not true. But there was no only one squashing.

I can’t speak for others, but it didn’t feel right for me to say he was staying or going unless I had better information. There was enough present on either side to believe both arguments could be true. Adams was offered a contract, a sign WVU liked him, but it was never signed, an indication of something different.

At around 11 o’clock this morning, Adams informed the Mountaineers he’s leaving. It would appear he played the game, and the Miami native used his first year as a full-time assistant at the FBS level to work with Rasul Douglas and take a job at USF, which has a loaded roster.
