The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

Enrolled and not

That takes care of West Virginia’s incoming recruiting class for basketball, but what about the three-sided football?

It’s getting there.

Last month, running back Justin Crawford, quarterback Will Grier, tight end Trevon Wesco and safety Kyzir White enrolled. On Monday, the locker room got a lot more crowded with more new scholarship players:

Safety Toyous Avery, cornerback Elijah Battle, offensive lineman Chase Behrndt, cornerback Mike Daniels, linebacker Brendan Ferns, linebacker Adam Hensley, cornerback Jake Long, cornerback Sean Mahone, linebacker Zach Sandwisch, offensive lineman Josh Sills, wide receiver Steven Smothers and safety JoVanni Stewart.

(We’ve mentioned many of these names before as they relate to playing time in the fall, and when we did, we had Mahone as a safety an Stewart as a cornerback. We now have different intel.)

Who’s signed and not yet on campus? Three important pieces: running back Martel Petteway, offensive lineman Craig Smith and kicker/punter Jonn Young. There’s another enrollment date later in the month, and though the Mountaineers want as many people on campus for as long as possible before camp opens in August, this is a good start.
