The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

Hey! It’s 4-0 WVU v. 4*-0 Texas

Looks like Mike Gundy was right and Joe Bergeron did fumble on what turned out to be the game’s deciding play Saturday night. The Big 12 Conference called and “apologized profusely” for the error.

The source said Anderson told Gundy the call was botched by head linesman Brad Edwards, who signaled touchdown too soon without proper view of the ball, which was fumbled before it broke the plane of the end zone.

Edwards was originally positioned on the goal line on the UT sideline, then sprinted toward the pile and put his arms in the air.

(Update: Uhh, maybe not?)

So a  matchup of the unbeaten was preserved and, prepare yourself, it could be the first of four straight for WVU. The Longhorns, a touchdown favorite, it should be mentioned, are followed by Texas Tech, Kansas State and TCU.

This next one is the biggest one because it’s the next one, but also because it’s Texas. It’s the league’s marquee institution and WVU will be visiting a very special place. For many, Texas is a benchmark program. Others grew up in Bevo’s shadow and have been looking forward to this.

Whatever the case, guys like Texan Jordan Thompson and Texan-via-New Orleans Dustin Garrison, have been waiting.
