Quite a bit of Dana Holgorsen’s postgame press conference Saturday dealt with who played. Basically, more guys saw the field as WVU tried to figure out who it was by seeing who had what.

The open week after the first game allowed for a lot of evaluation and there was even practice time on the Thursday before JMU week where the coaches worked out the young guys. Well, by my count, 62 players were used against Marshall and 58 were used against JMU.

New to the active roster against JMU: Receiver Dante Campbell, who somehow wasn’t used against Marshall, but slipped in against JMU, blocked on one play and then caught a touchdown pass on the next; and safety Nick Kwiatkoski.

In against Marshall and out against JMU: Offensive lineman Brandon Jackson, long snapper Jerry Cooper (remember, Dana was not pleased with the snapping against Marshall), safety Ismail Showell, defensive lineman Trevor Demko, defensive lineman Christian Brown and linebacker Garrett Hope. Brown and Hope are true freshmen and Brown played a bunch against Marshall.
