The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

What I was expecting, but not what I hoped for

Hey, Dana Holgorsen. You just signed a six-year, $20.5 million contract. What are you going to do next?

Oh.

“Watched a bunch of film all night,” he said. “We stayed here past 11 o’clock, had some fine dining in the back, went to the film room and sat there trying to get better.”

And I have to say, my head is spinning. I was the one cracking wise about how we and, by extension, you get nothing out of what we get to see of practice. Might have been off on that one.

I have no idea about the depth chart beyond the obvious and if there’s something innovative or even interesting going on with regard to plays or formations, it would be news to me. But damn if I haven’t at least gotten the pulse of things in the 90 minutes I’ve thus far seen.

I tried to relate that in yesterday afternoon’s post, what with the hitting and the hollering, but Holgorsen could no longer contain his satisfaction with the energy and enthusiasm in all of his practices. Yesterday was an especially good day for the Mountaineers.

“What I like is it became more competitive and there was more energy as the practice went on,” Coach Dana Holgorsen said. “That means these guys are excited about being out there and excited about playing.”

I’ll roll out the F Double later in the afternoon. Promise. To me, items from camp are a priority and I have a few up my sleeve. We’ll do the weekly wrap up more toward the actual end of the week. See you then.
