The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

You tell me what this means

Falling somewhere in line with the things we were talking about earlier today, take a look at this and tell me what you think it means as WVU heads into a new conference, plays host to Marshall and a blue blood program and has, you know, all that talent on the field and on the sidelines.

Tuesday was the priority deadline for season ticket renewals and Matt Wells, the director of sports marketing, told me a little better than 24,000 have been renewed. Now, that’s a big number and accounts for about 65 percent of the 38,600 season tickets that will be available — and I might predict WVU sells out this season with “just” 14,000 to go.

All of that despite the expected and virtually mandated hikes.

And here’s where I trip you up for no real reason: Since 2000 it’s the second-best pace. The only one that was better? Not the post-Sugar Bowl 2006 sales or the pre-2007 campaign. Try 2008. You think about that.
