The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

How do you fix this problem?

Maybe I’m just so focused on Dana Holgorsen that I’m completely oblivious to my surroundings, but it occurs to me there is a motto attached to that YouTube classic. And for much, if not all, of WVU’s loss to LSU, the team played fast and played hard.

Those are the second and third elements to the motto and, as such, not the most important thing the Mountainees must do.

Against the not top-ranked Tigers, WVU wasn’t very smart. So says the coach, but so agree most spectators. It has to change and it’s the team’s talking point this week.

“When guys do things well, we say they did them well and try to build on it and when guys do things wrong we say, ‘You’ve got to do it this way or do it that way,'” he said. “That’s why we watch tape and move on and focus on the things we feel like we need to get better at.”

Sounds easy enough, but WVU has been doing this from the beginning. And, for a night, it didn’t work. So I ask, How do you make good players smarter players?
