The Sock 'Em, Bust 'Em Board Because that's our custom

And so it is: WVU v. Clemson

This is the view from my room — and to the left … you don’t want to see what’s to the right — and the trip from my room to the lobby is going to be longer than the lobby to the St. Pete Times Forum.

As you know by now, the Clemson Tigers will be the No. 12 seed to oppose fifth-seeded and 22nd-ranked WVU at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow.

The Tigers looked pretty good last night — at the least, they cared to be there — and reminded me and others I spoke to of the Mountaineers. Tight defense, motion offense, overachieving rebounders, so on and so forth. Interested to see if that comparison holds up in today’s interviews.

And just to keep this theme going, the early game went to overtime Tuesday and the UAB-Clemson tilt started a touch later. It ended a little before midnight. By my calculations, that had the Tigers checking into their hotel around 4:30 this morning.

I don’t care how late interviews are today. I don’t care how resilient Clemson is or if that’s the team that wins tomorrow. Win or lose, blowout or blowout, this is a serious compromising of routine and of internal clock. Interested to see how, if at all, that plays today.

Oh, and speaking of hotels
