Basketball game at 8 p.m. on ESPNU from snowy, chilly, picturesque South Bend.

I couldn’t choose what picture to use. I opted for TDJ because I think it’s damn cool. Sorry. It won by a nose over what I had for dinner last night.

Legendburger

That’s called the Chicago Burger at CJ’s Pub & Catering. It featured a 10 oz. burger, olives, mushrooms, banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a knife and a fork that I absolutely needed.

And if the name of the place sounds familiar, it should. I was happy to set foot on the stage of such history.

(11:37 p.m., postgame update)

Press row was a fun place Saturday night. Constant rewriting and reshaping of stories that took on form in the first half and then about 12 different forms in the second. Think Saturday’s game had everyone guessing the outcome? Check the headline from Notre Dame’s recap.

Lots of anger and frustration following the game, as you might expect. No one wanted to talk about the second half and your upperclass isn’t very happy that everyone isn’t on the same page. Huggins said Mazzulla swung the game and the team — and the defense, in particular — was better because “we took a couple players out.” More to come Monday.
