The WVU football contingent merely golfed and socialized yesterday, the day before media day, and yet Oll Stewart couldn’t escape that one topic.

With camp opening this weekend, Stewart still doesn’t know about mysterious junior college defensive end Tevita Finau. He’s hopeful Finau will be on campus by Friday or Saturday but isn’t sure. The longer this saga goes on, the less likely it is that Finau will play for the Mountaineers this season.

“We just need to get him to Morgantown,” Stewart said.

Hmmm, that suddenly doesn’t sound so optimistic. This has now gone from “He’ll be here. Why are you asking?” to “He could be here. Why are you still asking?” I haven’t checked since writing the story last week about Finau, but I’ll check again today and see what The People say about his progress.

Let’s be honest, though. If I asked you to put a percentage on Finau showing up this weekend or ever, what would those numbers be?
