Jock’s back

Nothing official from WVU, and Oll Stewart will surely address this at his post-practice interview Saturday, but Jock Sanders is apparently back with the Mountaineers.

In a motions hearing Friday in Monongalia County Magistrate Court, Sanders’ attorney, Harley Wagner, said Sanders has been reinstated to the team after nearly six months of indefinite suspension for a DUI arrest in February.

Wagner also negotiated a deal to have Sanders’ four DUI-related charges dropped, if the WVU slotback handles a series of requirements.

That, of course, is significant for WVU, which gets a little needed depth and experience at both tailback and slot receiver.

From everything I’ve been told, Jock’s in pretty good condition. He basically lived at Pro Performance and even played in a flag football league there, I believe, and was allowed to work out with the team a few weeks back. He should hit the field in good shape and get back into football shape, which is much different, in a matter of time.

All that’ll be left is the sure-to-be-painful first time the media is allowed to interview him. I might sit that one out. But for today, it’s good news for fans that can’t wait for Saturday.
