Coffee House Shows In Two Cities
February 8, 2008 by Rudy PanucciCaffeine addicts in both Charleston and Huntington will get extra treats with their java tonight as Radio Free Charleston vets perform at Capitol Roasters in Charleston and The Java Joint in Huntington.
Here we see Jonathan and Laura doing their take on The Beatle’s “I Want To Hold Your Hand” from the RFC Retrospective Jam Session last December. In a special coincidence, today is the 44th anniversary of the day The Beatles played this song on The Ed Sullivan Show.
And here we see most of Seven Minutes Till Midnight (Roy had to leave early) doing their cover of the Marshal Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See,” captured live at the La Belle also during the RFC Retrospective. In another stunning coincidence, 44 years ago today, members of The Marshal Tucker Band watched The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show!
Next month, if all goes according to plan, Captain Crash, The Beauty Queen From Mars, Joe Slack and Seven Minutes Till Midnight will also perform on the same bill at the La Belle Theater in South Charleston. I’ll have more details as the event shapes up.
