Plugged In

I’m not ashamed to say that “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2” is one of my most-anticipated games of the fall release season. The original “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” remains one of my favorite games of last generation and is hands-down the title my kids and I spent the most time playing together.

And “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2” looks like the bigger, better sequel we’ve been waiting on for years.

In addition to unveiling a new story trailer recently at New York Comic Con, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced what players can expect in the way of DLC and the obligatory Season Pass.

‘LEGO Harry Potter Collection’ coming to PS4

In what may well be the greatest surprise gaming announcement of all time, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the “LEGO Harry Potter Collection” for PlayStation 4.

Combining the two previously released LEGO Harry Potter games — “LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4″ and ‘LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7” — the new game features enhanced graphics and visual effects, along with two DLC packs which offer additional characters and spells.

The original LEGO Harry Potter games were fantastic and I can’t wait to experience them again with my kids, who have recently discovered the wizarding wonders of the Potterverse.

The “LEGO Harry Potter Collection” will retail for $49.99 and apparate into stores Oct. 18.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

There has been an awakening …

Yes, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was just the shot in the arm that the “Star Wars” film franchise needed after the much-maligned prequel trilogy. As such, “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is easily the most enjoyable LEGO-branded game since “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” way back in 2013.

‘LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ announced

Can’t get enough of Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Kylo Ren? You’re in luck.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” a new title from TT Games that lets players experience one of the biggest movies of all-time in classic LEGO game fashion.

Players can look forward to controlling the likes of Rey, Finn, Han Solo, BB-8 and Poe Dameron, and exploring memorable locales from the film such as Jakku and Starkiller Base. The game also introduces a new “Multi-Build” system, where players can choose from multiple build options, and new Blaster Battles that allow players to take cover during combat.

There will also be a number of vehicles to control, including the iconic Millennium Falcon. The game also plans to introduce new content to help bridge the gap between the events of “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will launch on nearly every available platform on June 28.
