Microsoft took center stage in San Francisco Thursday, staging its X10 media event to spotlight upcoming software releases. Microsoft used the opportunity to announce release dates for two highly anticipated Xbox 360 titles — “Alan Wake” and “Dead Rising 2.”
“Alan Wake” will hit stores first, arriving on U.S. shelves on May 18. “Dead Rising 2,” the zombie-slaying sequel from Capcom, will be available Aug. 31. “Dead Rising 2” will also be available on the PlayStation 3.
In other X10 news, Bungie announced that the multiplayer beta for “Halo: Reach” will go live May 3. Gamers will need their “Halo: ODST” game disc in order to gain access into the beta. “Halo: Reach” is scheduled to be released later this year.
