One Month At A Time

Wednesday Weigh-in

And how is Bill’s weight-loss and fitness “journey” is going?

Let’s take a peek, shall we?

Current weight: 191 pounds.

It’s hard to keep my enthusiasm at bay. This is about the weight I was when I graduated high school (you tend to gain weight when you work part-time in a steak house and can have all the Mountain Dew to drink you want).

This could be just a quick dip that will rise a pound or so next week, but man, I’m hopeful that it’s not and that I’ll be under 190 soon.

I promised my kid a donut when I get to 190. I promised me a donut when I get to 190 and I’ve already kind of picked one out.

The hardest thing right now is having to give up my old clothes. Even my workout stuff is looking kind of baggy.

Starting weight: 253 pounds.

Current goal weight: 170-ish pounds.

Weight medical professionals believe I should be: 144 –or the weight I’d need to be to ride a unicorn to work.

I will name you Mister Sparkles the Death Bringer.

Blood pressure: That’s up in the air. I didn’t get the chance to find a new place to test that, given that I believe my current preferred site is compromised.

Number of times different people have spoken to me about my weight-loss and/or doing CrossFit in the last week: I’ve lost count.

But a lot of people have chimed in about how thin I am, how thin I’m getting, how I’m only half the guy I used to be.

Half is probably a bit much. It’s closer to say I’m 3/4 of the guy I used to be –I think. I’m not great at math.

Number of those people who said they couldn’t change their diet or exercise: Two.

Number of people I’ve bored to tears explaining/complaining about my diet, the calorie deficit and exercise: At least 5. Today.

Caffeine: By all that’s holy, yes!

Cans of diet soda consumed this week: I found a nice ginger ale with lemonade thing that is quickly becoming my favorite.

Let’s just say I’m not holding back.

Notable fitness accomplishments: Oh man, yes! On Sunday, I ran a mile and a half without stopping, without even really slowing down –and I felt like I could have done more.

I’m not sure how much more, but I think I could have done another half mile.

It felt amazing.

Days until the Spartan Race in WV: 164 (August 24)

Captain America t-shirt: Today, we are rocking a Dropkick Murphys t-shirt.

General outlook: I could use a nap.
