Favorite Friday: Tangle Teezer

My hair is so boring. It’s over-washed, frizzy, flat, dry, etc. There’s not a whole lot I like about it most days, to be honest. But it’s so soft and generally tangle free and that’s something not everyone can say about their hair. Before I moved to West Virginia, my hair stylist (hair dresser?) actually complimented me on how soft my hair was. She asked what shampoo I used but that’s not the secret y’all. It’s my hot pink Tangle Teezer.

I haven’t tried the Wet brush, so I can’t compare the two but I don’t feel the need to replace my Tangle Teezer. I’ve been using it for at least two years. I brush it through wet hair from top to bottom until it’s completely tangle free, which takes maybe a minute. You can use it in the shower or with dry hair too.

I remember being amazed by how easy it was to brush through tangles. I had heard about it through blogs and YouTube but wasn’t sold on it being much different than any other brush. But, it really is different. Mine doesn’t have a handle like most brushes do, so that takes some getting used to. The bristles are made of some sort of plastic that just glides through my hair and doesn’t get hung on anything. There’s also smaller bristles and larger ones. This is probably the magic formula.

I feel like this would have been great for my mom to have used on my tender head as a child. It kind of looks like a toy or a computer mouse, but it’s a hair brush made to fit in the palm of your hand. Maybe this is for better control, I’m really not sure.

Definitely give it a try! I haven’t tried any of the other brands that imitate the Tangle Teezer, but the original is definitely worth the $15 investment.
