Inside Marshall Sports

Some links, predictions

Quickly, before I head from digs on over to Annapolis. (Funny enough, I am staying in College Park.)

Athlon is picking the Herd to win and, strangely enough, so are a few staffers on this fan site.

The “Johnson” referred to is cornerback Jeremiah Johnson, who broke his toe in the first game and didn’t return until the season finale at North Carolina State.

If you’re actually here and heading into Annapolis, the local papers has this visitors’ guide to getting around the stadium area. You might want to take a look.

My stories this morning are here and here, and if you missed my Christmas Eve story on Bill Legg and the Marshall offense, give that a look. For that matter, check into my Christmas Day feature on the 2013 Gazette Sportsman of the Year, though that is non-MU related.

Hoping to see a good game today, of course, but I haven’t been optimistic about Marshall’s chances from the time this game was announced. Maybe it’s because the Rice game was such a letdown, I don’t know. … But Maryland’s last three games were its best, and the Terrapins are playing on the road. Marshall has won 3 on the road, but the Herd has looked shaky in all 7.

Prediction: Terps 35-20. Check back for the grade card.
