OFFENSE: A

Ran well enough against a pretty sturdy line, and you can’t ask much more out of the passing game. 21 double-digit plays, no turnovers, 475 total yards.

DEFENSE: A-

Docking a bit for giving up the 99.5-yard drive, but these guys made some critical plays. You can’t argue with 2 of 14 on third downs, or holding C.J. Brown to 38 net yards rushing.

SPECIAL TEAMS: A

Deandre Reaves had  a well-placed 31-yard return to the 37-yard line, but this is all about Tyler Williams. I knew he was back.

QUARTERBACKING: A

Cato had those two weird, fruitless passes down the sidelines, and needs to manage the 2-minute drill a little crisper, but he had a heck of a day. He really frustrated Maryland pass rushers (and DBs, for that matter).

COACHING: A

They made adjustments, they did not panic, and you have to give it up to d-coordinator Chuck Heater. He deserved his water-bucket bath.

OVERALL: A

Automatic grade for a bowl victory, and it was earned today.
