Not-so-new C-USA projections, March 4

March 4, 2013 by Doug Smock

So far, I’m doing a bang-up job. In the last 2 game days, I’ve missed one result: UAB over Marshall. Nailed off of Saturday’s picks.

The update, if you can call it that (and I’m still sticking with Marshall over Southern Miss):

1. 16-0 — Memphis (now 14-0) at UTEP, UAB // WW (clinched 1)
2. 12-4 — So Miss (11-3) Marshall, UCF // LW (cllinched 2)
3. 10-6 — UTEP (9-5) Memphis, SMU // LW
4. 9-7 — Tulsa (7-7) SMU, at Rice // WW
5. 8-8 — ECU (7-7) Tulane, Marshall // LW
6. 8-8 — UAB (7-7) UCF, at Memphis // WL
7. 7-9 — Houston (5-9) Rice, at Tulane // WWW
8. 7-9 — Tulane (6-8) at ECU, Houston // WL
9. 6-10 — Marshall (5-9) So Miss, at ECU // WL
10. 4-12 — SMU (4-10) at Tulsa, UTEP // LL
11. 1-15 — Rice (1-13) All losses (clinched 11)

Once again, I’ve got the Herd in the 9 spot playing No. 8 Tulane with winner playing … oh, never mind. 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, then again Thursday.

The possibility of a first-round bye is only mathematical. The first few scenarios I cooked up involve somebody losing to Rice. Need I elaborate?

  1. Buffalo Bop says:

Good call on Southern Miss win.

Tyndall is a good coach, but not showing up at P-G presser was bush league.
