Inside Marshall Sports

Jamar Lewter

The offensive tackle from Washington’s Ballou High who decommitted from North Carolina and threw his lot with the Herd carries a lot of … height. That’s 6-8, and he’s listed at 280 … you figure he can carry 310-325 with the same agility, or better.

Scouts Inc. (via ESPN.com) rates him a 77, or a 3-star. He is called “a flexible athlete who runs well for his size,” and a man who “flashes a tough, aggressive attitude.” There are a number of things he must correct and improve on, including his pad level in run blocking — that’s a biggie. Most propects from the District need a fair amount of polishing, but … this could be a much-needed catch on the O-line.

Just don’t pencil him in for 2011. Boy, the Herd could use a juco or three in that unit.
