Breaking news:

The West Virginia Supreme Court just issued this order declining to block the proposed buyout of Massey Energy by Alpha Natural Resources.

Justices also voted to unseal and make public the petition for a preliminary injunction filed by some Massey shareholder groups and this response filed by the company.

UPDATED 2: Vice Chancellor Leo Strine Jr., a judge in Delaware’s business court, has also issued a ruling declining to block the Alpha-Massey transaction. I’ve posted a copy of that decision here.
