Massey security chief pleads not guilty

The security chief at Massey Energy’s Upper Big Branch Mine has pleaded not guilty to charges that he lied to federal investigators and tried to destroy documents sought by government teams looking into the April 2010 explosion that killed 29 workers.

Hughie Elbert Stover entered his plea Tuesday in U.S. Magistrate Court in Beckley.
